In UP’s districts of Noida & Gaziabad, easy availability of drug Hydroxychloroquine for other than patients other than corona virus infections, has become a thing of the past.
Many people in these two districts of UP have started complaining about the shortage of the drug. HCQ has been used in many other diseases like those related to lungs, systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis.
The chemists of both the district also complained that the supply of HCQ has been restricted since March 24.
Due to the increase in coronavirus related patients and high use of HCQ in the treatment of corona virus patients created this acute shortage in both the district of UP. This shortage seems to be temporary in nature but this brings difficulty in the treatment of those patients who rely on it.
Meanwhile, the manufacturer of HCQ has ramped up its production by almost 10 times to fulfill the demand of the drug.
