With 2 New Cases, Dharavi Corona Cases Rises to 71

In Mumbai, a densely populated city of Dharavi, the corona infection is spreading its wings. With 11 new cases coming up on Thursday, the number of positive patients has increased to 71. So far 8 people have died due to corona here. Today, the number of corona-infected patients has crossed 3,000 with 165 new cases in Maharashtra. 187 have died here.

A BMC official said that out of the 11 new cases, four came from Mukund Nagar, two each from Dharavi, two from Social City and Rajiv Nagar, and one each from Sai Raj Nagar, Transit Camp and Ramji Chawl areas. He said that out of a total of 71 cases, 18 cases were reported from Mukund Nagar area of ​​Dharavi, eight social cities and seven cases from Muslim city areas. So far eight patients from Dharavi have died. There are about 1.5 million people living in slums built in this highly crowded area.

Meanwhile, BMC is sleepless due to rising toll of COVID-19 patients in Dharavi, amidst rising cases of corona. Due to the dense settlement with a population of 1.5 million, the corona virus is at the highest risk of spreading and this risk is increasing with the number of patients. To protect Dharavi from the outbreak of Coronaviurs, BMC has prepared a special action plan.

This plan includes doctors, nurses and medical departments. 10 such teams include 24 doctors from various private hospitals, who will go door-to-door and examine the residents of Dharavi. That team will consist of 2 doctors, an ANM and two CHPS. Kiran Dighawkar, an officer of Zee North Ward, told that two teams would be examined by people in five areas of Dharavi. It includes Kalyanwadi, Mukund Nagar, Social Nagar, Muslim Nagar and Madina Nagar.

The team will examine here who has a fever, cough or difficulty in breathing. It will be investigated. If someone is found to be suffering from fever and suffering from phlegm, this team will send him to Sai Hospital for further investigation. The team has also been given 18 thermal scanners to measure people’s body temperature.
